A school where childhood still feels wondrous.
The Wonder Schoolhouse is a warm, outdoor-loving early childhood school in Sandy, Utah for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K children. Families come to us for well-staffed classrooms, prepared environments, clear communication, real outdoor time, and days that feel rich without feeling rushed.
TWS is becoming the village so many families are missing.
Early childhood was never meant to be something families carry alone. The Wonder Schoolhouse is growing into a place where parents can find coaching, practical resources, community events, weekend enrichment, volunteer projects, and people who understand that real family life does not always go neatly.
The school day still matters most. Children need safe classrooms, prepared materials, outdoor time, and enough adult presence for teachers to notice what is happening. Families need support too. TWS is built around both.
Spanish language immersion for preschool and up.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, our preschool and Pre-K classrooms will include Spanish language immersion woven into the day through songs, routines, books, classroom language, and repeated exposure in context.
The important parts of the day are often small.
The Wonder Schoolhouse was built for families who want care that feels thoughtful, personal, and well supported. Children need safety, fresh air, predictable rhythms, strong relationships, and enough adult presence in the room for teachers to notice small things before they become big ones.
The days blend Reggio-inspired invitations, Montessori-influenced scaffolding, outdoor play, social-emotional practice, and real classroom life: paint, stories, shoes on the wrong feet, and children learning how to work near, with, and around each other.
Early childhood care in Sandy, Utah, from infants through Pre-K.

What parents usually want to know before they trust a school.
Small moments matter
Teachers notice the practical details: who needs a slower goodbye, who always reaches for the red Magnatiles, who is ready to ask a friend to play.
Routines
Children move through the day with predictable routines, well-supported classrooms, and enough room to settle into themselves.
Engaged
Materials are real. Outdoor spaces get used. Good questions often start with a child holding a rock, a worm, a block, or a paintbrush.
Families stay close
Families stay in the know through photos, notes, newsletters, and updates.

A school day built around what children actually need.
Outside is part of the day, multiple times a day!
Children need fresh air, movement, seasons, mud, sunshine, and safe chances to climb, balance, carry, and practice what their bodies can do.
Parents shouldn’t have to guess all day.
Brightwheel notes, photos, messages, and clear communication help families follow the day without having to chase basic information.
Learning is hands-on.
Children get hands-on materials, meaningful questions, and real chances to solve problems that matter to them — even when the problem is how to build a bridge strong enough for plastic animals.
Classrooms need enough support.
Low ratios, careful classroom choices, and well-staffed classrooms help protect the tone of the day.
Smaller groups mean more teacher time.
Ratios matter because children can feel when adults are stretched too thin. Smaller groups mean more noticing, more calm support, and more room to help a child through a hard moment without making that moment define the day.
Families notice the little things first.
A few real comments families have shared through anonymous parent surveys.
“The learning and growth we’ve seen in the last year is magical.” Anonymous parent survey
“The Brightwheel app and the staff communication are amazing. I always know what kind of day he is having.” Anonymous parent survey

A predictable rhythm, hands-on work, and enough structure to help children settle.
A normal day moves through classroom work, outside time, meals, rest, art, practical life, science, stories, and the social work of being with other children. There may be muddy shoes by the door, paint drying somewhere, and a teacher kneeling nearby to help two children solve the problem of one shovel and two very committed plans.
